Pilates/Yoga


PILATES is a progressive, dynamic fitness conditioning combining strength, flexibility and control.  The Pilates method seeks to develop controlled movement from a strong core, building endurance, symmetry, and coordination for the whole body. Originally termed Contrology, emphasizing the need for control to perform the movements, the challenge is to focus, breath deeply and move consciously.  Pilates can be performed on a mat or using specialized equipment and is beneficial for rehabilitation, injury prevention, alignment and overall health.  At FIX Healthcare we offer private, semi-private and group class instruction.

YOGA – FIX Healthcare offers yoga classes to help aid in rehabilitation and restoration.  These classes include:

Yin Yoga- Postures are held for several minutes each, focusing mainly on the hips and spine.  These postures target the connective tissue of the the body and allow tension to unfold slowly with time.

Restorative Yoga-Gentle postures are supported with several props and are held for 10-15 minutes.  These classes teach the fine art of slowing down and resting, and invite the body to more efficiently regulate the nervous system.
