Pilates is a progressive, dynamic fitness conditioning combining strength, flexibility and control. The Pilates method seeks to develop controlled movement from a strong core, building endurance, symmetry, and coordination for the whole body. Originally termed Contrology, emphasizing the need for control to perform the movements, the challenge is to focus, breath deeply and move consciously. Pilates can be performed on a mat or using specialized equipment and is beneficial for rehabilitation, injury prevention, alignment and overall health.

At FIX Healthcare we offer private, semi-private and group class instruction. Our pilates instructors & physiotherapy assistants can set up a specialized exercise program on a one-on-one basis for you in conjunction with your physiotherapy treatments.

ABOUT MAT PILATES

Mat pilates is a progressive fitness training focusing on deep core muscles, strength and flexibility. The movements are designed to use the strength and resistance of ones own body, so no specialized equipment is required. Exercises can be done at home, or on the go. At Fix Studio we offer drop-in classes mat classes.

MAT PILATES

These classes are designed for clients on the go. Classes will fluctuate with the experience of students in the room. Variations and modifications will be given so each student can work at their own level. Students will learn the fundamentals of pilates and how to safely move in and out of exercises. Exercises are performed both on the mat and standing, increasing strength, flexibility and balance. It is recommended that students take a few fundamentals of pilates classes prior to joining these classes.

FUNDAMENTALS OF PILATES

These classes are designed for clients new to Pilates and those working on deepening their understanding of pilates. These classes are safe and suitable for almost everyone. Exercises will focus on the subtleties of core strength and body alignment. If you are new to pilates, we strongly recommend you attend 3-4 fundamentals classes prior to joining the regular mat pilates classes.

ABOUT EQUIPMENT PILATES

Work one on one using specialized equipment to help deepen your body awareness, aid in rehabilitation, prevent injury, or get a really deep workout. Exercises are easily modified on the equipment for all levels of fitness ability. Pilates can be beneficial for those suffering from: arthritis, scoliosis, osteoporosis, low back pain, other movement dysfunction.

PRIVATE & SEMI-PRIVATE EQUIPMENT CLASSES

We provide you with personalized one-on-one instruction, using the reformer and chair equipment to develop your own personalized program.

SUPERVISED PILATES CLASSES

Work at your own pace following a program that’s been designed specifically for you through private classes. A teacher will provide feedback, corrections and new exercises as you follow your program. With only 2 half-trap reformers available class sizes are limited and students benefit from personalized instructions. Minimum 3-5 privates to prepare a program.

OPEN STUDIO (UNSUPERVISED) PILATES EQUIPMENT

Students who have been approved may use the equipment at a scheduled time outside of regular class hours independent of a teacher.

Introduction to Equipment Pilates – $200

  • This package will provide you with personalized one-on-one instruction, using the reformer and chair equipment.
  • During each 60 minutes session, you will build a personalized program which will enable you to join supervised equipment classes.
  • The package includes: 1 initial assessment session + 2 private follow-up sessions. (Regular price = $80 each session)
